From Correspondent Banking to the ISO 20022 Frontier
My career began in the operations side of international banking — managing SWIFT message flows, correspondent banking relationships, and the daily mechanics of cross-border payment settlement. What started as operational work quickly became a deep intellectual fascination with how payment systems actually function at a global level.
At Southeast Bank PLC, I've built expertise across the full spectrum of international payment operations — from SWIFT connectivity and nostro reconciliation to regulatory compliance and FX settlement. But the defining chapter of my career so far has been leading the bank's ISO 20022 CBPR+ migration.
The ISO 20022 migration was more than a technical upgrade. It was a fundamental rethinking of how financial data moves across borders — richer, more structured, more transparent. Leading that project taught me that the best payment professionals are translators: people who can bridge the gap between technical specification and real-world operational reality.
That insight is what drives this platform. I write because most of the knowledge that matters in payment systems lives in the heads of practitioners — and never makes it into accessible, public form. I want to change that, particularly for professionals in emerging markets where the stakes of getting payment infrastructure right are highest.
ISO 20022 CBPR+ Migration Lead

Led the complete migration from SWIFT MT legacy formats to ISO 20022 MX messaging across all international payment workflows. This involved coordinating with correspondent banks globally, retraining operational staff, and ensuring uninterrupted service throughout the transition.
